The Swedish death metal band Anata was formed in the city of Varberg on the west coast in 1993. It did however take until June 1995 for them to record their first demo "Bury Forever The Garden Of Lie". In 1996 a couple of line-up changes took place and in 1997 they recorded a second demo entitled "Vast Lands Of My Infernal Dominion". This demo led to a record deal with the French label Season Of Mist and in 1998 they were in the studio to record their debut album "The Infernal Depths Of Hatred" which included four tracks from their second demo as well as four new songs. The album became album of the month in the French magazine Metallian.
Anata now started working on their second full-length album "Dreams Of Death and Dismay" which was released in 2001. In August 2002 the band signed a new deal with the British label Earache Records and their inprint Wicked World.
